6 th Sunday after the Epiphany
February 12, 2012
Non-Communion
Sermon Text: Mark 1: 40-45
Sermon Theme: "Noticing Leads to Talking About Jesus"
On this Sunday, February 12 th, our worship theme is entitled "Noticing Leads to Talking About Jesus" -- based on the gospel reading for the day, (Mark 1: 40-45). Talking about Jesus, spreading the news, starts with being "healed". We see this in each of today's readings, as we look at Naaman in the Old Testament reading, and the leeper in the gospel reading, and St Paul who writes in the 2nd reading. But in each of these citations and more it actually starts before the healing -- with Jesus love and then His Holy Spirit working faith in people. There are miracles to notice and to share. It simply can not be bottled up.
